I'm Kerry.   I'm the current Chairman for Ridgeback Rescue so I know a thing or two about breeders, who to avoid and who to trust have had dogs for 40 years and for the last 17 of those, I’ve been fortunate enough to share my life with 5 Rhodesian Ridgebacks … the two most recent of which being Dice and Coda, Uncle and Nephew, and both bred by the incredible Priorpark Kennels. When you have one who melts your heart and ticks all the boxes, it’s no surprise that you jump at the chance of having another with the same lines by the same breeder and that is certainly how it was for us. You see, there are breeders .. and then there is Priorpark. Puppies raised within the home with love, attention and the very best food and stimulation. Health checked throughout their lines to make sure the puppies produced are sound, healthy and exactly what any new owner would want.

My dogs are, quite simply, my world. Not only are they family to me, but they are also my work colleagues too, travelling around the entire UK teaching canine first aid. They are my demonstration dogs so need to be of sound temperament and bullet proof enough to regularly meet classes of 20+ strangers, be trustworthy enough to take literally anywhere, and willing to accept the attention and pressures that brings.  

When we aren’t teaching, we enjoy both competitive agility and also breed showing. Both boys have a flare for showing off – Dice, now aged 3, is simply a wizard when it comes to agility. He enjoys showing but prefers the exhilaration of agility. He’s fast, agile and incredibly enthusiastic about EVERYTHING he does. Nothing lights him up more than running and jumping with wings on his heels. Don’t let anybody tell you that Ridgebacks can’t dog agility. Oh no. The right dog, with the right breeding can do anything you ask of him. He is a real clown with the kindest heart and gentlest personality. Without doubt, EVERYBODY loves Dice.

Coda has just turned 19 months old and what a showstopper he has turned out to be. He is one of those dogs who is put together perfectly, exuding star quality and struts into the show ring with a real air of “I’m here, take notice of me”. A total showman, Coda has brought my dreams to reality achieving a list of Best Puppy In Shows, Group wins and awards including his Junior Warrant title at just 11 months of age (qualifying him for Crufts for life). By 12 months he had already won a CC and Reserve CC … a third of his requirement to becoming a UK Champion, and was crowned the UKs Top Ridgeback Puppy of 2021, and won Best Junior Ridgeback at Crufts 2022.
